One of my favorite photographs happens to be one I took in San Diego–on the highway. I pulled off the side of the road and laid in a field of gerber daisies. I had never seen an entire field of gerber daisies–red, orange, purple, and pink. I blew up that photograph, framed it, and then took my paints and continued the daisies on the periphery–painting on the glass. It was easy, and I just mimicked the daisy petals here and there. It’s one of my favorites–and if I hadn’t taken the time to pull off the side of the road, I wouldn’t have this photograph hanging on my wall ten years later.
