Limited Edition Gifts for the Holidays – Break the Sameness Cycle

Sameness abounds during the holidays. You see it in the malls and in the megastores. Aisle after aisle of sameness. Its hard to be anything unique when shopping has become something we do in the same stores with the same products. My Pop Art allows you to stop “outside of the box” for a second and consider something truly distinctive: Limited Edition Art.

These Limited Edition prints are signed and numbered by the artist, qualifying for its individuality. These signatures attest to the originality and literally “hands on” quality of the work. This also certifies that only the highest quality inks were used on these pieces and only the finest level of archival substrates.

We all have that person who seems to have everything. You never know what to buy. That’s when these Limited Prints will pop into your mind. And the site doesn’t do them complete justice. Once you see the vivid colors and designs of these prints, the work speaks for itself. Most people are taken aback by them, such lively and bold artwork is bound to make even the most difficult gift-receiver happy.

Distinctive artwork is a genuine gift; one that keeps giving for years and on a daily basis. Unlike other gifts that slowly but surely take their place on some shelf in a closet, hand-created artwork has a life of its own.

The nice part? It’s easy to order as well. No waiting in long lines, no winding endlessly through stores that make a football stadium seem small. Simply check out their site and choose from their wide selection of Limited Prints. You’ll be glad you did!

Outdoing your Friends with My Pop Art

It’s all right to be competitive with your friends, yes, even your siblings. We are anyway, so we might as well learn how to accept it. And what better way to show your love of competition than outdoing your other friends’ and family members’ choices of holiday presents?

That’s right, outshine them with My Pop Art. So your sister Susie presents your mom with a toaster cover (who uses those things?) and your friend gives a kitchen gadget that no one is quite sure how to use and is guaranteed to collect dust.

Then you enter the picture, almost quite literally, with some bright, bold and distinctive Pop Artwork. Everyone oohs and ahs and you sit back, confident that once again, you outshone everyone’s uninspired gift-giving.

Plus, you know how simple it was to purchase some My Pop Art. You had a few great shots on your computer and then just sent them off to My Pop Art, making a few quick choices about size and style. And that was it. You were back to playing online Solitaire while your friends and family sweat it out in overcrowded malls with sneezing children.

If you’re not the competitive type, that’s alright. You can still feel confident you are giving a gift that is one-of-a-kind. And personalized. Nothing generic here. These are gifts that will genuinely mean something to your loved ones and gifts that really add to the decor of any household. Besides, it beats those knitted toaster covers any day of the week! (Again…who uses those things?)

Don’t Do It!!

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful…

And the fire is so delightful….and the tune goes on to explain that you have absolutely nowhere to go because of the snow, snow, snow. Well, if you have no place to go, that means you’re stuck in your home for longer period of time. Cabin fever can begin to set in. You stare at the same four walls and watch saccharin sweet Christmas specials in spades.

Well, if you’re stuck indoors a little more than usual, it might be time to do a little indoor renovation with some My Pop Art. Nothing brightens up the walls more than a little Pop Art. There’s just something about the bright colors and wild designs that makes you feel a little less affected by the winter blahs.

This is proven fact as well. Colors help the psyche. People surrounded by brighter colors perform better and think more positively overall. I don’t know about you, but once the holidays descend upon me, I could stand a little positivity…and not the forced kind.

So while you’re out and about buying gifts for everyone under the sun, think of yourself this year. What would make your time indoors a little more cheery and inspiring? How about a little My Pop Art? Maybe a photo of yourself or a loved one or your favorite pet? Think about what cheers you up.

Once you receive your artwork, make sure it’s place on your walls in just the right spot. You want something that your eyes naturally fall upon. Artwork is meant to inspire. Pop Art inspires and celebrates.

My Pop Art Canvas Gifts, for the Conservative Types

I’ve used My Pop Art several times, for friends and family members. But with the holidays fast approaching, I knew I needed to get something for my mother that wasn’t as bold, fun and vibrant as the Pop Art versions of photos I’ve sent in the past. Am I saying my mother can’t handle a little boldness and fun? Well, maybe not. Don’t get me wrong – she can be a real kick in the pants after several glasses of wine but for the most part, she is a conservative mom.

Luckily, I looked at the My Pop Art site a little more in-depth. I saw that they offer a service where you send them a photo and they transfer it to canvas, giving it a sort of “museum quality.” Now that’s a little more my mom’s speed. I dug up a photo from last year’s family gathering where the whole gang is sitting on the beach laughing and being silly. There’s seagulls flying away behind us, as if to say “This crowd is too rowdy for us. Let’s get out of here.”

I know my mom really liked the photo. She asked me for a copy but I kept forgetting. Good thing. Now I have a perfect gift idea. Once this is transferred onto canvas, she has a favorite photo of her that’s considerably different than sticking a picture up on your fridge with a magnet!

It’s also nice to know I have a nice, easy way to take care of my Christmas presents in a special way. It’s a one-of-a-kind gift.

My Pop Art Gift Certificates – Stocking Stuffers or Last Minute Gifts

I’m always good at purchasing the “big” presents – you know, like the ones for my father or my aunt or my sister. It’s all the random presents that often fall through the cracks, like my friends (a few of which occasionally buy me Christmas presents. I never know when so I feel like I have to be prepared each year, just in case. I wish we would just send out a memo!)

When I discovered My Pop Art gift certificates, I thought all of my holiday problems had been solved. I purchased a few My Pop Art gift certificates last year just in case. And if my friends had decided that this wasn’t a gift giving year, then I’d have the gift certificates allll for myself. (insert cynical laughter here.)

You see, one of the best ways to make the holidays more tolerable is to not sweat the gifts. When everyone talks about the stressors of the holidays, you know what they’re really talking about, right? Shopping…oh and dysfunctional family gatherings but that’s a whole other story.

So having a few handy My Pop Art gift certificates around allows you to enjoy your holidays without the stress of the malls. And the Santas. And the sneezing, wheezing kids. And the yelling parents. And the lines that start at the register and go to the depths of Hell..and…and…okay, let’s all calm down. Get the gift certificates and you can stay at home and drink rum and egg nog, laughing at the ridiculousness of it all!

Pop Art – Celebrating your Family and Friends during the Holidays

The wonderful thing about a family Pop Art portrait during the holidays is the way it unifies. Even the most splintered and stressed families appreciate their depiction in fine, bold Pop Art form. It’s celebratory and fun – even when the family is not feeling particularly “celebratory and fun!”

My Pop Art does the hard work for you. You simply send in a well-composed and well-lit photograph of your family and they can create a work guaranteed to cheer up even the most painstaking of family gatherings.

Oh…maybe I’m being negative. Why do I have such a pervasively bleak picture of the holiday? Family gatherings can be fun and hectic in the best of ways. Often they can seem like a fun, little whirlwind – more like a tornado…you don’t even know what hit you. And of course, there’s a lovely comfortability that you share with your family. After all, they’ve known you for quite some time.

Perhaps the difficulty begins when we try too hard to be something we’re not. We see all these picturesque depictions of families portrayed on TV and somehow, our family seems to “fall short.” So people start compensating. They start forcing happiness (which is always a painful thing!) Maybe the idea is to embrace your family (or friends – we shouldn’t all assume that people have families to visit. For many, their friends have become their family) and all of the dysfunction. Heck, maybe it’s a great time to celebrate all of the strange idiosyncrasies.

A My Pop Art piece for your family, of your family, does just that. It shows off your bold and wild glory, for better or for worse. Pop Art gives that comic distance that we often need during the holidays!

The Right Gift for a Smoldering, Grouchy Teen

Teens are notoriously dangerous. More then Joe Biden, they are the perpetual “loose cannons.” One second loving and kind, the other, seething and snarling. And who knows what hormonal imbalance set them off? Just get out before someone gets hurt!

And here we are at the holidays with undoubted one teen we need to “gift.” That’s where My Pop Art steps in and gives you a hand with your most unruly teen. Find your sweetest, kindest photo of your teen (perhaps the only time you could obtain this was during a deep sleep – no matters!) and send it off to My Pop Art. They will create a larger than life, bold, vivid Pop Art depiction of your larger than life, bold, vivid teen.

The reason this gift is so appropriate for teens? Well, they are notoriously self-involved and self-conscious. They want to feel like rock stars but their questionable self-esteem gets in the way. Pop Art portraits of their sweet, tortured faced gives them a little boost. For 15 minutes or longer, they feel they are the rock star they are meant to be.

Plus, you are capturing a moment in time. They won’t be teens forever. And while it may seem trying, when they’re off rocking the free world, those portraits will mean a lot. Oh…and Pop Art is a great way to make their messy rooms seem a little brighter and less messy…okay, Pop Art doesn’t make their rooms seem less maybe. But maybe it will distract the eye for a second. Or two.

The Fine Art of Gift Giving

As the holiday approach us like a big, black cloud – I mean, like a happy return to tradition, family and friends – we revisit gift-giving in all of its intricacies. How can gift-giving be complicated you ask? Figure it this way: how many gifts have you received that weren’t quite right for you?

Conversely, there’s a high likelihood you’ve given gifts that weren’t so well-received. That’s why My Pop Art is so “holiday perfect.” Everyone enjoys the gift because the gift is designed with that special person in mind. Wouldn’t you love some artwork of you? Admit it. Let your ego say yes!

Here are some other words of wisdom regarding gift giving that will help before you go out and spend you hard-earned moola:

WHAT IS MY RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS PERSON?

Understanding the perimeters of your relationship with the intended gift recipient will have you well on your way to finding just the right gift. While your new boss may very well appreciate something general like set of silver candlesticks, chances are your brother would not exhibit the same level of enthusiasm. Conversely, something naughty for your spouse or significant other will most likely create a lot of fun around the house, but might dampen the party considerably if presented to your great aunt. Take into consideration your history and type of relationship with the recipient and you will eliminate a great number of inappropriate ideas right off the bat.

So there you go. Some sagely advice before you enter the crowd-packed stores. Or better yet, don’t worry about mall fever. Contact My Pop Art instead!

Smart Christmas Presents with Pop Art

If you’re like me, waiting for the last minute to buy Xmas gifts is sort of a holiday tradition. Maybe its the tension that builds in my neck or swimming in a sea of people…I don’t know, it just spells Christmas to me! Well, I’m ready to break from tradition this year with My Pop Art. Not only can I order speedy gift certificates to send to friends and family, I can also send off some digital photos via email directly to My Pop Art and they take care of the rest.

And the nice part? These are special gifts. Ones like other. If you go to your average mall, there’s so much sameness. I mean, how many cheese baskets can you buy in a lifetime? How many toxic body lotions? How many overly scented candles?

And during these tough economic times, with My Pop Art has gifts to suit any budget. Unusual gifts for good price…who can beat that? It’s a conscientious gift choice when budget really does matter. I don’t know about you, but Christmas has to be a little more than overbuying, right?

I mean, not only are times tough, but Christmas isn’t supposed to be about buying 4,000 gifts. It’s alright to handmake some cookies. It’s alright to do a little “exchange” with a friend (I.O.U. a free 15-minute back massage!) and it’s certainly alright to buy some cool and unusual and AFFORDABLE art from with My Pop Art.

Let’s break out of this trying economic cycle by making some different choices, shall we?

Looking through the Eyes of a Pop Artist

The reason Pop Art resonates with so many of us is that recognize it, we’re familiar with it – it surrounds us daily. From the moment you wake up in the morning, you are surrounded by images that are considered Pop Art sources. From your cereal box to your milk carton to your radio station to the car you drive, Pop Art is basically derived from the forms of advertising and media that circle us daily.

The great thing about My Pop Art is that you (or your loved ones) are the Pop Art images of choice: you have some say in the matter! You can send them your best photo and they can discover the “Pop Artiness” of people in your life! Just make sure your photo is a good one, where the subject is clear and centered properly. My Pop Artists work best with good, original art. Or take a new shot, with Pop Art in mind. Dare to take shot that’s larger than life and a little over the top. Think of an ad you see in a magazine or newspaper and try to replicate it. Have some fun!

The next time you see another media image thrown your way (which will probably be in a matter of minutes), remember that you could be the star on the proverbial Wheaties box! It will help put all these other media images into perspective, hence why Pop Art exists in the first place: to give us some distance from the media images that constantly inundate us and to make you smile at the absurdity of it, sometimes!
