Pop Art for your Game Room

I can think of no other room that is perfect for My Pop Art piece than our newly created game room. My husband and I built this room in an attempt to pry us away from the television. That’s right, we were becoming real junkies. From Lost to Law and Order, it seemed like our lives had become nothing but work and TV! When I suggested our game room, my husband was in full agreement: let’s create a room for fun, for friends, for anything other than TV.

I couldn’t wait to send my photo into My Pop Art. I took a macro (super close-up) shot of playing cards: a Jack, Queen and King of Hearts. They look so real, it’s amazing. Have you looked at their faces up close? It’s pretty interesting - they look so coy and reserved, as if they know something very powerful. The piece that was sent back to me was wonderful - so fun and bright and funky. The face cards jumped off the wall practically.
It inspired us to start having a game night with our friends. None of us really knew how to play cards so we resorted to games we knew when we were young. No Poker for us! It was Gin Rummy and Speed…silly stuff. But fun (especially fun with some brandy involved!)

Our game room really came together with our My Pop Art piece. It sort of guides the room, with the face card’s eyes following us as we try to pry ourselves away from the dumb, old boob tube!
