Pop Art for the New Baby’s Room

Frank and I didn’t have much of a budget to decorate our new baby’s room. I really wanted it to be special but some of this baby stuff…it costs a lot of money. Frank and I aren’t the frivolous types either. We don’t like to buy junk for the sake of buying junk, you know? We wanted things in the baby’s room that were practical. I wasn’t into 16 stuffed animals for instance. So when I heard about My Pop Art, I thought “perfect.”

I took a picture of our garden in the back yard in full bloom. Everything was going off! Bright oranges, yellows and even some blue zinnias for good measure. I sent it off and when it returned, I fell in love. I thought, now this is the kind of art work that can stay on the walls for years to come. It’s bright and eye-catching for the baby when she’s young (yes, we found out it was a girl!) and as the years pass, it’s a positive, interesting piece that brightens any room. Plus, at some point, I could explain to her what Pop Art is about and where it came from. I think art history is important. We all grow creatively on the shoulders of our artistic forefathers and foremothers, I believe.

So the baby’s room isn’t full of “stuff” but what’s in it, counts. And that makes both Frank and I happy. Sometimes I’m glad we don’t have all the money in the world. It makes for smarter choices. Thanks My Pop Art!
