Get a Pop Start to Pop Art

When my husband decided to run a marathon, I thought, “What the heck are you thinking? The only ‘running’ you do is to the fridge to grab a beer during a commercial break.” But I wanted to be supportive. At least, this would be a photo opportunity, I thought. Plus, if I got a good shot, I could send it to MyPopArt.com and give it to my husband as a birthday gift! Yes. 2 for the price of 1!

So my husband trained. And trained. And trained. He lost weight and became very focused. I was really impressed. I’d never seen him “go for the gold” like this and it really made me proud of him. By the time the marathon rolled around, I was as excited as him. I wasn’t really sure how he’d do in the long run (excuse the pun) but I knew whatever he did, we’d make the best of it.

I was “front row” when they shot the starting gun and got the most magnificent shot of as he just began his run, his face focused, his body poised. I really think it’s one of the best shots I’ve ever taken. I sent it to My Pop Art and I just loved it! So did my husband. He has it hanging proudly on his office wall.

How did he do? He petered out somewhere around Mile 14 and we went home and watched the rest of a game. But neither of us cared. It is what it is, world. You win some, you lose some, you shoot it all.
