In the early days, pictures were developed in black and white. we did not have cameras that capture color like we do today. So what was done to help put more life into the pictures was to tint them with sepia tones. These sepia tones were extracted from cuttlefish tint. The use of these sepia tones began in the 1880’s. With the ever increasing advancements of technology, we now have digital cams that capture crystal clear pictures, so we don’t use these tones anymore. But you may still want that nostalgic look of years before. You can take any picture that you have today and create that look of yesterday. Mypopart.com has made it possible for you to create a vintage popart work of art out of any of your pictures. This is a great idea for family portraits or Christmas cards. We pride ourselves and giving you the maximum quality prints. Order your vintage popart prints or Christmas cards today!

Early Days of Photography

Back in the early days of photography, pictures and photos were black and white. The only time they did not come in black and white is if they were hand tinted with certain sepia tones. Using sepia tones began around the 1880’s. Sepia was made by adding a pigment that was made from the Sepia cuttlefish to the positive printing of pictures. This process then converted any remaining metallic silver into a sulphide. This was more resistant to any wear and tear over time. This is the reason that you see why many old photographs are sepia toned. These sepia tones were then hand tinted so that they would add life and color to the pictures as well as film.
With the new advancements in technology, we don’t need sepia tones any more. Everything is digital and crystal clear. But you may still appreciate the look and feel of these tones. Mypopart.com can do the same thing and provide you with a vintage print. This vintage picture can hold a special place in your heart. It is excellent for picture restoration or taking pictures to be toned from your family album. We take pride in providing you with quality prints. Just imagine what it would look like to have a photograph of your spouse or child made to match the tones of your old ancestor pictures. Order yours today!
