Pop Art retirement….

Ok so my friend is retiring. Well actually my firends husband is going to join her in retirement land. And I was stuggling for a gift for them to celebrate this momentous occasion.
Then it dawned on me. I grabbed my digital camera and drove out to their farm, that they purchased 35 years ago.
With the shots I took, I contacted mypopart and ordered a vintage print, and emailed them the shots of the farm. They helped me choose the right shot and got the print to me quickly and easily! It was wonderful and easy and my friend and her husband love the print!

The secret of pop art

In the early days of photography all photos came in black and white, unless they were hand tinted with sepia tones. According to wikipedia this process began in the 1880s when sepia was produced by adding a pigment made from the Sepia cuttlefish to the positive print of a photograph. The chemical process involved converted any remaining metallic silver to a sulphide which is much more resistant to breakdown over time. This is why many old photographs are sepia toned.
The sepia tones could then be hand tinted to add the life like colors to the pictures and films. Today we can do the same thing, and provide a vintage print.
